• Whiskers and Snoots is officially registered in all counties in North Carolina. North Carolina Secretary of State - Assumed Business Name Search Link

  • Due to unpredictable traffic and unforeseen circumstances, visits fall within a two-hour window. Exact times can not be guaranteed unless time-sensitive medication is required.

For clients needing one visit per day for a mostly self-sufficient pet, appointments will be adjusted to fit my schedule. You can request morning, afternoon, or evening, and I’ll try to accommodate, but it’s not guaranteed. These visits will always occur within 24 hours of the previous one.

  • The time listed for pet-sitting services is the minimum you'll receive. If your pet enjoys my company and I have extra time, I may stay longer (up to double or triple the time), but I’ll always ask your permission before doing so.

I use the Time To Pet pet-sitting software to track each visit. The service begins when I enter your home and ends after securing it. I'll create the visit report in my vehicle, which takes about 15 minutes, and it will include timestamps, my GPS location, a list of tasks completed, photos of your pet, and detailed notes about the visit. If your pet hides and I can't find them, there may be no photos of them.

To provide extra assurance, I include my smartwatch in the photos to verify exact times, adding a layer of trust beyond the software's timestamps.

  • I offer only the services listed on this website which are pet-sitting in your home and neighborhood dog walks.

    I do not provide:

    ❌ Training
    ❌ Grooming
    ❌ Boarding
    ❌ Jogging with your pet(s)
    ❌ Hiking with your pet(s)
    ❌ Pet Taxi Services
❌ Off-leash time outside your fenced property

  • Your home, pet, and personal information will never be shared without your explicit written permission. I carry no identifying details on myself or my vehicle while on the job that would indicate who I am.

I also won’t post photos of your pets, home, and any identifying information on any platform, including the Whiskers and Snoots website, Google business pages, or social media. Having worked with clients requiring strict privacy, I understand and prioritize confidentiality.

  • As the sole caretaker under the Whiskers and Snoots name, I am the only one who will care for your pet(s). There are no other employees or partners. If a personal emergency arises and someone else must step in, you will be notified. More details are outlined in the Pet Sitting Agreement.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • I can provide brief bathroom breaks outside for pets in heat, but neighborhood walks are not guaranteed.

  • Retractable leashes will not be used due to safety risks; this is non-negotiable. If you only have a retractable option, I will use my own durable and reliable one. My leash features an extra handle near the collar clip and is securely attached to a locking climbing carabiner on my utility belt for pets that tend to pull or dart. For walking two dogs, I’ll use a heavy-duty double lead. I prioritize preventing pets from escaping. For those that don't pull, I generally just hold onto their line.

  • I strongly prefer front-clip harnesses, as they discourage pulling and prevent pets from slipping out. If harnesses aren’t available, I can use collars, but I have experienced dogs escaping from them before.

  • I only give treats that you provide; I do not supply any.

  • I have only administered pills to cats and dogs, but I'm open to other methods if you show me how to do it with your pet.

  • Leash reactivity is common; some dogs may show aggression toward others on a leash even if they're friendly off-leash. I'm experienced with this, and as long as I can safely control your dog(s), I'm comfortable managing it. If you have two larger, very reactive dogs, I'll split the visit time and walk them individually.

If your dog has bitten or shown serious aggression toward people or animals, certain conditions apply for me to accept them. Your dog must be trained to wear a cage muzzle that allows them to pant and accept treats. Please read the “Personal Injury, Damage From Pet, and/or Health & Safety Concern” section of the Pet Sitting Agreement, as legalities are involved in these cases.

  • While I hope for the best, medical emergencies can happen. I will contact you as soon as possible. If you are unreachable, I will follow my training and contact your veterinarian if necessary. Details are outlined in the Pet Sitting Agreement and the Veterinary Release Form, which you are required to read and sign. I have completed basic training in pet CPR and first aid: Certificates Link. I am also insured through Pet Sitters Associates, LLC.

  • I will make every effort to reach your home, but if I determine there's a significant risk to my safety or vehicle, I will notify you. In such cases, I'll contact your emergency contact or assigned neighbor from your profile to check on your pet. Please have a backup plan, such as a hidden key and a trusted neighbor or friend with a suitable vehicle for emergencies.

  • I use the chart below in deciding how long your pet will spend outside.

  • I'm completely comfortable with recording cameras in your home and don't need to know their locations, as long as none are in the bathroom, which I may need to use.

You may hear me talking to your pet(s) or narrating my actions. This helps both you and your pet feel more at ease while you're away—and I just enjoy talking to pets.

  • If anything is damaged during my visit, whether by me or your pet, you'll be notified. I'm insured and bonded through Pet Sitters Associates. For more details, see the 'Property' section marked by the red superscript “1” in the Pet Sitting Agreement.

  • I'll clean up any mess using your home’s supplies. While I don't always provide supplies, I do keep a set in my car that I'll use when necessary. If a larger amount of additional items are needed, I can purchase them for your pet or home, with charges added to your account and receipts provided. Full details are in the Pet Sitting Agreement. Please make sure to list any specifics in the 'client info' section of the Time To Pet system once your account is registered.

  • Before your scheduled visit, please provide two keys for the main entrance, one for a secondary entrance, and any necessary key fobs, gate codes, or cards. Be sure to test all keys. Why do I need so many? Keys can break, garage doors may malfunction, doors can jam, power can go out, or electronic panels can fail. A locksmith can be costly and time-consuming if I can’t get in to care for your pet.

If you use a hidden key lock box, those keys will only be used during visits, though I don’t personally recommend a hidden key method due to security concerns. For keys you provide, a GPS tracking tag and my contact info. are attached to the keyring in case they’re lost.

If I lose your keys, I’ll cover the cost of replacement. If needed, I can also make key copies for a fee, which is listed in this FAQ and in the Pet Sitting Agreement you’ll sign before services begin.

  • I'm happy to let your pet run freely in a secure, fully fenced backyard. I’ll play with them as long as it’s safe and clean. However, I cannot be held responsible if your pet escapes while not on a leash, so please let me know if they are an escape risk.

  • Invoices are due four days after your last service day and will be sent to the email address linked to your Time To Pet account. I prefer payments through the Time To Pet system, as it automatically generates a receipt. An example of an invoice looks like this: Sample Invoice Link

The Time To Pet system uses Stripe which is the same company that Amazon, Lyft, and Apple rely on for payment processing. Stripe accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB, Diners Club, and debit cards.

Cash and checks are also accepted; please make checks payable to 'Whiskers and Snoots.' Cash and check payments will be manually entered into the Time To Pet system within two days.
